I've got a project due in, well its not untill January 09, but i have to be all finished and with prints by the time we break up from uni which is mid December, and although it seems pretty far away now I know it will go so quickly.

Anyway, my shoot is about a nostalgic place which both me and my dad share, the place is a woods which belonged to my Granny and now belong to my dad, the house which the woods backed onto has been sold and re-built but the land was kept(thankfully)

So, my idea is to put a domestic scene in the clearing in the woods where my family and I still spend our time together, I want to take the photos at dusk/night time, using a lighting kit to light up the domstic scene i.e: a chair/ table etc.

Im going to be using a 5x4 camera(which I'm also worried about as im not 100% confident with using one yet)(but i'll be using a medium format back so it wont be so bad)I was going to set the camera to Bulb and leave the shutter open, meanwhile me and my father will be passing across the scene painting in the trees in the background with an external flash to give the photograph depth.
My worries are whether this will actually work, they really need to as this is pretty much the only weekend I can do it, before I need to start printing etc
What does everyone think? Should I have my dad included in the photos as its mostly about him or what about both of us?I was hoping the image will be strong enough not to need either of us in it?
Any practical tips too?
Thanks for reading the rant
:)
